iPad

January 28, 2010

Every man and his dog has an opinion on Apple’s latest gadget, the iPad. My simple take is that it will be a nice device for “rich” people to have lying around – instant on, big screen, long(ish) battery life. (It is nice that it will run all the existing appStore apps so Zenbu will be all go on it.) It’s not quite a laptop and not quite a smartphone. In fact all I could think about was this episode from Scrubs, one of my all time favourite TV shows.

JD is so right, giant phones are funny!

Actually I quite liked the idea of a large screen device compared to current ipod touch/iphones whilst sharing the same OS and APPS as I sometimes wished for a larger screen size while browsing the internet or playing some games like Fieldrunners!

The major disadvantages are not able to multitask, no USB etc

It could also have been better if it sported a camera and GPS chip and could run Mapsource / nRoute !

That’s the sum of it isn’t it. It’s a nice device to sit between your iPhone and IBook but wouldn’t it be nice if it did all those things that any commodity PC can…
